Thanksgiving

Tilden, Shirley's half-brother, joined us for Thanksgiving this year. A lot of energy. We took them for a walk by the beach. At our church's Thanksgiving service people were allowed to stand up and say what they were thankful for. None of our kids were so bold, but Jessie did lean over and tell me she was thankful for her puppy.

Bojitsu Test

In the boy's martial arts training they are studying Karate, Aikido and Bojitsu. This week they had their Bojitsu test:

Veteran's Day

Jessica was quite proud of her mom, and rightly so, at this year's Veteran's Day celebration, in her 5th year at Hindley Elementary School.

Jessica's 10th Birthday

Jessica turned 10; and, as is our tradition on the kid's birthday, she and Dad had breakfast out together (she chose IHOP). At school she was warmly greeted by all her friends with a big "Happy Birthday," and had brownie pizza to celebrate. On Friday she had a costume-slumber party with 7 of her friends. She seems to be one happy 10-year-old!
