Memory Bank

Ben is hard at work, this semester, on the 5th grade project called the "memory bank." It is a pretty comprehensive biography of a relative; which, in this case, is his Great Uncle Bob.

Jaime Bravo

Jacob also had to dress up. His class was doing a project on Hispanic culture, and his report was on Jaime Bravo, a well-known matador. Well, well known among people who go to bull fights. Personally, I think he should have chosen Tito Puente, but nobody asked me. For sure, Jacob makes a fine matador, and thank you Grammie, Josie, Jenna and Jessica for working on this costume.

Elvis

Jessica's 4th grade class had a "living museum." There was quite a group of celebrities, and our Jessica made sure Elvis was not MIA...

Christmas 2008

Hindsight is 20/20, right? So after all the entertaining, cooking, construction, etc. I realized I didn't take a lot of pictures this year for Christmas. In fairness, we had gone to ski from the 23rd to the 25th, and I did bring my camera. However, freezing rain prohibited me from taking it out. Skiing in freezing rain and snowball fights in the hot tub, nor driving to and from the resort, were condusive to using the camera. Nonetheless, we had a great time with the kids, and a special treat as Grammie, Marc, Kira and Noah joined us.

In preparing for his graduation from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts, Ben received the Arrow of Light award, which is the highest award available to Webelos, and the only acheivement which transfers over to the Boy Scout uniform. In addition to this, Ben was one of a select few to recieve a special award for having accomplished every acheivement possible as a Cub Scout. Since he will not be in town for the January crossing over ceremony, this was all the more special for him. We're quite proud.
